The event welcomed over 60 participants, including hotel managers, travel agency representatives, coordinators from vocational education and training (VET) centres, university staff, students, and officials from the Basque Government’s Department of Tourism. Its main objective was to introduce the EthAI Tour project to key stakeholders and to collect valuable feedback on its relevance and applicability. Irida Tase, project coordinator and CDEA’s internationalisation officer, presented the ECVET profile and the Training Plan, focusing on three core learning units: Digitalisation in Tourism Artificial Intelligence in Tourism Ethical AI in Tourism
These modules were developed to address the growing need for digital and ethical competencies among professionals in the tourism industry, particularly those working in hotels and related services. The session generated significant interest, as no other similar initiative is currently active in the region. Participants responded positively, particularly appreciating the training’s potential for practical application and innovation. The event also facilitated new opportunities for collaboration between VET institutions and industry representatives, aligning training with labour market needs. The success of the event confirmed the relevance of the EthAI Tour initiative as a forward-looking response to the digital transformation challenges in the tourism sector. Overall, the multiplier event successfully fostered collaboration and feedback among public and private sector representatives, setting a positive tone for the future implementation of the EthAI Tour project's training tools and courses.
